I am young CEO, 18, of an up and coming apparel company by the name of HeroVillain Clothing. This company is the launch venture of an even bigger venture (for lack of better words) called HeroVillain Entertainment Group, LLC.
p.s. You can go to your hosting company and you should be able to forward herovillain to your blogger website until your website is finished. That way people can see 'something' about your company in the meantime and in between time.
ok, sounds good. In building out your business brand, esp in a competitive market like you are in try to keep the following in mind:
1. What is the problem that your company solves for the marketplace i.e not enough budget apparel for fashion conscious, not enough mature clothing for teens etc. I know that it is fashion and all and people like things that look good, but try to keep in mind the culture of your audience. What is it that you offer and how it differs from everybody else. Do not put down other people's products in the process. Your product is not better or worse, it just different.
2. Identify your target group. Even though your product may appeal to anyone and everyone (who can afford it :)), it will be most successful and easier to grow your brand and exposure when you focus on a specific group- like women, men, teenagers, a certain age group or demographic. You will understand why you must position yourself like this once you receive the e-course (which gets delivered daily by email) and how it helps you tremendously when you start marketing. It will be so much easier to find your audience and convert those leads into sales.
3. And I notice your website isn't up yet. But don't let that stop you from getting your online presence out there TODAY. So be sure to at least register a free blog at www.blogger.com For your blog title instead of using your company name use a name that people might search for to find your company i.e. urban youth clothing Otherwise, since you are not yet technically branded, the only people who will find your site are people who know you or receive your business card or flyer...and not necessarily people who would be ideal or prospective customers but have never heard of you. In your background info on the site, repeat those search words and in your about section. It makes it easier for you to be found. Try to post once a week with progress of your line, a new line coming, new product release, launch party etc. and give people a way to reach you who want to place pre orders. If you can post some photos or videos up of stuff. It also will help you get interviews with the media.
okie dokie that's it for now.
I don't want to work you too much.
